Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using PodShrink (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the Service. We may update these Terms occasionally — continued use means you accept the changes.

What PodShrink Does

PodShrink uses AI to generate short, narrated audio summaries of podcast episodes. We pull public podcast feeds, transcribe episodes, create summaries using third-party AI services, and deliver them to you as audio files. You can browse, listen, save favorites, and download (depending on your plan).

Your Account

To use PodShrink, you need to create an account. You're responsible for:

Providing accurate, up-to-date information
Keeping your password secure
All activity that happens under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior (spam, hacking attempts, etc.).

Subscription Plans & Billing

PodShrink offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Standard, Pro). Pricing and features are outlined on our Pricing page.

Free Plan: Limited shrinks per month, basic features
Paid Plans: More shrinks, premium voices, download access, priority processing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at each renewal until you cancel. No refunds for partial months, but you keep access until the end of your billing period.

We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. If you don't like the new price, cancel before it takes effect. Continued use means acceptance of the new rate.

Cancellation & Refunds

You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. We don't offer refunds for early cancellations, unused shrinks, or partial subscription periods.

Usage Limits & Fair Use

Each plan has a monthly limit on generated summaries ("shrinks"). Limits reset on your billing date. You can't:

Share your account with others
Automate bulk generation to resell or redistribute summaries
Use the Service in ways that harm our infrastructure or other users
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or hack the Service

We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that abuse these limits or violate fair use.

Content & Intellectual Property

Podcast Content: The original podcast episodes belong to their creators. PodShrink generates derivative summaries under principles of fair use (commentary, transformative use). We respect intellectual property — if you're a podcast creator with concerns, contact us at [email protected].

Your Use: Summaries generated by PodShrink are for your personal, non-commercial use. You can't resell, redistribute, or publicly broadcast them without permission.

Our IP: The PodShrink platform, design, code, branding, and AI-generated summaries are owned by us or our licensors. You get a limited license to use the Service; you don't own it.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Summaries are created by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. They're meant to give you a quick overview, not replace the full episode. We don't guarantee accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any purpose. Use them at your own discretion.

Disclaimer of Warranties

PodShrink is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties (express or implied) about reliability, uptime, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Service may have bugs, downtime, or interruptions. We don't guarantee it will meet your needs or be error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PodShrink and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes lost profits, data loss, or damages from errors in AI-generated content.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 CAD, whichever is greater).

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold PodShrink harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of anyone's rights.

Third-Party Services

PodShrink integrates with third-party services for payments, AI processing, and hosting. We're not responsible for their actions, downtime, or policies. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to PodShrink at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms or abusive behavior. You can terminate your account by canceling your subscription and deleting your account from your account settings.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Miscellaneous

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PodShrink regarding the Service.
